Dragon’s Den-style events for our Level 2 & 3 Business Diploma students

We’re looking for local businesses to get involved by providing 6 prizes for our students in the below categories, as well as get involved with the panel as one of the ‘dragons’.

  • Best for Overall Concept (a winner for each of the two groups)
  • Best for Sustainability (a winner for each of the two groups)
  • Best for Celebrating Manx culture (a winner for each of the two groups)

This could be one business to provide all 6 prizes or 3 companies to provide 2 prizes each. The prizes could be an Amazon voucher or a voucher for a local business to treat the students.

During the events, the students will be developing and pitching a new micro business idea!  This initiative aims to enrich the learning journey for our students and increasing their industry exposure, with the prizes acting as recognition and celebration of the students' hard work and effort.

Once the students have developed their ideas they will have an opportunity to meet a panel of local business experts, before breaking into small groups for a workshop where students can ask the panel guests questions specific to their business ideas. The second session, at the end of the month, is the final event where students will each individually pitch their business ideas to the panellists, followed by a question-and-answer session with each student.
